Sunshine Post :: EcoMonster

Monday, June 18, 2012

Hello, dear readers. Inherent in the mission statement of The Bright Side Project is the unspoken belief that to “Do What You Love, Love What You Do” is an absolutely essential component in creating a happy and healthy lifestyle. Every now and then, we will ask our contributors to answer a few short questions on the ideas of happiness, creativity and sunshine. We hope these rays of light help inspire you to find the sunshine in your day, today and everyday.

Today we are honored to introduce you to Thoey of EcoMonster.

Please introduce yourself to our readers and explain a little bit about your business.

Hello,  my name is Thoey (toe-wee) and I am the creator of EcoMonster.  With a mission to spread a green message, my shop offers botanical,  upcycled,  and sustainable products .  I equally enjoy creating DIY kits,  designed for all ages to enjoy the art of handcrafting.

We believe that one of the ways to achieve happiness is to “Do what you love, love what you do.” How does this philosophy apply to your life?

I have a B.S. in Biology and have been working full time at a biotech company since I’ve graduated.  I have finally worked up the courage to follow my dreams and going full time with EcoMonster so you caught me right when I am starting to live by this philosophy.  Wish me luck!

Our mission here at The Bright Side Project is to spread sunshine on a daily basis because we firmly that life is (still) beautiful. Where do you find beauty and inspiration?

I love the symbolism a lotus flower represents.  That even through dirty mud, a beautiful and pure lotus flower can emerge indifferent of the surrounding dirty water.  This has always been my inspiration to see beauty and be better in life even through tough situations.

On a dreary day, what do you do to infuse your life with a little bit of sunshine?

I do simple things that makes me happy.  Like stepping on crunchy leaves, sipping on a cup of tea, or cracking a crème brûlée as I’ve learned from Amélie.

At this very moment, what are you most grateful for?

I am thankful for the encouragement and support I’ve received from both close ones and strangers, pushing me to do what I love and to follow my dreams.
