Sunshine Post :: Erin Miller Arnold Fine Art & Textiles

Thursday, September 13, 2012

Hello, dear readers. Inherent in the mission statement of The Bright Side Project is the unspoken belief that to “Do What You Love, Love What You Do” is an absolutely essential component in creating a happy and healthy lifestyle. Every now and then, we will ask our contributors to answer a few short questions on the ideas of happiness, creativity and sunshine. We hope these rays of light help inspire you to find the sunshine in your day, today and everyday.

Today we are honored to introduce you to Erin from Erin Miller Arnold Fine Art & Textile Design.

Please introduce yourself to our readers and explain a little bit about your business.

I am Erin Miller Arnold, a Textile Artist and Painter. I am also a proud mother of three wonderful boys. In my studio time I combine my love of fabrics, and surface design, and the constant drive and desire to make things, and create new fabrics, and turn them into fun products.

We believe that one of the ways to achieve happiness is to “Do what you love, love what you do.” How does this philosophy apply to your life?

After years of focusing on raising my boys, I opened a studio outside the home. I love to make things and feed my creative spirit, and having the time and space to do this, heighten my appreciation for all that I do have! I love being a mom and an artist!

Our mission here at The Bright Side Project is to spread sunshine on a daily basis because we firmly that life is (still) beautiful. Where do you find beauty and inspiration?

I find beauty and inspiration from my family, my relationships with my friends, and nature. Traveling and spending time in nature has a huge influence on my work….colors, lines, textures and patterns are all around us. Having time to notice them is a beautiful thing!

On a dreary day, what do you do to infuse your life with a little bit of sunshine?

Music! I love listening to music, it really lifts my spirits and fills the space with warmth! Oh and of course a good cup of coffee!

What are you most grateful for?

My family and friends. We are healthy and together.
