Sunshine Post :: Kaye Rachelle Designs

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

Hello, dear readers. Inherent in the mission statement of The Bright Side Project is the unspoken belief that to “Do What You Love, Love What You Do” is an absolutely essential component in creating a happy and healthy lifestyle. Every now and then, we will ask our contributors to answer a few short questions on the ideas of happiness, creativity and sunshine. We hope these rays of light help inspire you to find the sunshine in your day, today and everyday.

Today we are honored to introduce you to Bonnie and Susan from Kaye Rachelle Designs.

Please introduce yourself to our readers and explain a little bit about your business.

We are Bonnie Kaye Whitfield & Susan Rachelle Dreifuss, co-owners of Kaye Rachelle Designs. Printmakers by trade & lovers of fabric – we started this business just after earning our MFAs from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn in 2010. We were studio mates, designing & printing graphics for a home textiles project. We fell in love with printing on fabric and soon dreamt up our small home textiles company, where we create throw pillows, placemats, tea towels, aprons, and market totes. We work out of our studios in Philadelphia, PA & Summit, NJ.

We believe that one of the ways to achieve happiness is to “Do what you love, love what you do.” How does this philosophy apply to your life?

Certainly! Our passion is in printing, design – and we work more & more each day to fulfill that love. We may not always love the challenges involved, but we come pretty darn close.

Our mission here at The Bright Side Project is to spread sunshine on a daily basis because we firmly that life is (still) beautiful. Where do you find beauty and inspiration?

We find our inspiration in the everyday – in the mundane that often gets overlooked.

On a dreary day, what do you do to infuse your life with a little bit of sunshine?

Meet up with a friend for a cup of coffee or a cocktail and good conversation.

What are you most grateful for?
Our business relationship. We get stuff done, work through disagreements, and are close friends – all at the same time. It’s so lovely to have found someone you work so well with.
