Sunshine Post :: L.A.R.K.
Hello, dear readers. Inherent in the mission statement of The Bright Side Project is the unspoken belief that to “Do What You Love, Love What You Do” is an absolutely essential component in creating a happy and healthy lifestyle. Every now and then, we will ask our contributors to answer a few short questions on the ideas of happiness, creativity and sunshine. We hope these rays of light help inspire you to find the sunshine in your day, today and everyday.
Today we are honored to introduce you to Ching from L.A.R.K.!
Please introduce yourself to our readers and explain a little bit about your business.
I believe the only person who knows what you truly want is yourself. When you know your strengths and weaknesses, you will know when to listen to external voices (opinions from others, for example), and when to tune them out. I try not to desaturate what I love doing with what others think of it too much (ie “Is it trendy?”, “Will it sell?”, “How many people will buy that?”), even though I know generally people share their opinions because they care. There has to be a balance and a possession in holding on to what you love doing and then just go all out and run with it like your life depends on its existence.
Our mission here at The Bright Side Project is to spread sunshine on a daily basis because we firmly believe that life is (still) beautiful. Where do you find beauty and inspiration?
I’m a very visual-oriented person, so I’m usually drawn to photographs and illustrations. From illustrations in children books to prints on vintage fabric, and film photographs from someone’s attic to music videos on Youtube, I always feel that there are so many levels of beauty and color that stir up something within me.
On a dreary day, what do you do to infuse your life with a little bit of sunshine?
I do a silly dance that involves a lot of flailing arms, awkward shoulder movements and highly exaggerated “cool” facial expressions with my husband. It’s kinda like an audition gone wrong on a dance competition, haha! Silliness is a big part of our marriage and it never fails to cheer us up
At this very moment, what are you most grateful for?
My husband. His support is unending and his laughter keeps me going. I honestly can’t imagine life without him!

Wonderful interview!
