Hello, dear readers. Inherent in the mission statement of The Bright Side Project is the unspoken belief that to “Do What You Love, Love What You Do” is an absolutely essential component in creating a happy and healthy lifestyle. Every now and then, we will ask our contributors to answer a few short questions on the ideas of happiness, creativity and sunshine. We hope these rays of light help inspire you to find the sunshine in your day, today and everyday.
Today we are honored to introduce you to Clara from Marigold and Sage.
Please introduce yourself to our readers and explain a little bit about your business.
Hello! My name is Clara Lambert, and I am the owner/designer of Marigold & Sage. In the handmade side of my business, I design and create accessories for women and babies. I am also currently working on opening a parties + events shop, which will be a mix of supplies and handmade detail for lovely gatherings. I am all about creating and surrounding myself with beautiful things to make this life as exciting and fulfilling as possible. I believe in the power of a beautiful detail to remind everyone who sees it of the gratitude that is due to our beautiful world and blessed lives! It is my intention to create beautiful details to enhance the lives of my amazing customers.
We believe that one of the ways to achieve happiness is to “Do what you love, love what you do.” How does this philosophy apply to your life?
I have always been one to follow my heart. I majored in French and Women’s Studies, because I loved them, though I will probably not be able to apply them in any sort of career path I take. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have in my business to do something I love, and be surrounded by encouraging and thriving makers and business owners.
Our mission here at The Bright Side Project is to spread sunshine on a daily basis because we firmly that life is (still) beautiful. Where do you find beauty and inspiration?
Everywhere! I am inspired by my customers and the amazing women in my life. I am inspired by the breathtaking landscape I am surrounded by in the Pacific Northwest. I am inspired by colors and shapes and textiles and patterns. This world is so abundant and beautiful, what is there not to be inspired by?
On a dreary day, what do you do to infuse your life with a little bit of sunshine?
I am actually one of those weird people who love a dreary day. I like the hunker-down feeling of a rainy day. I go with it happily, and make some tea. When I am feeling down for whatever reason, I firmly believe that chocolate and a legitimate break can fix most any slump. A hug from my sweet daughter will do the trick as well.
At this very moment, what are you most grateful for?
That is a tough question to answer! My blessings outnumber my ability to count! I would say that I am most grateful for my healthy and kind daughter, her presence is really a gift.
