Sunshine Post :: Minicyn

Tuesday, August 21, 2012

Hello, dear readers. Inherent in the mission statement of The Bright Side Project is the unspoken belief that to “Do What You Love, Love What You Do” is an absolutely essential component in creating a happy and healthy lifestyle. Every now and then, we will ask our contributors to answer a few short questions on the ideas of happiness, creativity and sunshine. We hope these rays of light help inspire you to find the sunshine in your day, today and everyday.

Today we are honored to introduce you to Cynthia from Minicyn.

Please introduce yourself to our readers and explain a little bit about your business.

Helloo! I’m Cynthia aka Minicyn. I currently reside in the wonderfully chaotic Paris, France where my little jewellery business started 3 years ago. Prior to that I’d been a dutiful slave to the ’9 to 5′ working as a Graphic Designer/Illustrator for 14 years down in the antipodean for various publishing companies. This has certainly helped me in terms of photography and design for my current job. From memory, all I had with me to start with upon arrival to my “new” job were my hands, a few essential tools, and a little white table to work with – after all necessity is the mother of invention!

We believe that one of the ways to achieve happiness is to “Do what you love, love what you do.” How does this philosophy apply to your life?

I’ll vouch for that for sure, life is very short and many of us forget that. If I was to go up in smoke next week nothing would change much in terms of my ‘doing/job’. Retirement per se is not in my lexicon. I look forward to waking up every morning to start my day, and my nights are as long as I want them to be.

Our mission here at The Bright Side Project is to spread sunshine on a daily basis because we firmly that life is (still) beautiful. Where do you find beauty and inspiration?

Life is beautiful because ugliness exists in order for us to see it, sadly that’s the truth. So the least we could do is to learn to acknowledge it keep it close to you bring it out always, stare/think/touch as often as you can and embrace it.

On a dreary day, what do you do to infuse your life with a little bit of sunshine?

Music and drawing.

What are you most grateful for?

That my family and friends are safe and healthy.
