Hello, dear readers. Inherent in the mission statement of The Bright Side Project is the unspoken belief that to “Do What You Love, Love What You Do” is an absolutely essential component in creating a happy and healthy lifestyle. Every now and then, we will ask our contributors to answer a few short questions on the ideas of happiness, creativity and sunshine. We hope these rays of light help inspire you to find the sunshine in your day, today and everyday.
Today we are honored to introduce you to Rachel from Rachel Reinhardt.
Please introduce yourself to our readers and explain a little bit about your business.
The Rachel Reinhardt Jewelry collection began with a special mother/daughter bond. I had always had a passion for jewelry as the grandaughter of an antique jewelry dealer and my mother, of course, who was a skilled artist. One day, while playing around with some semi precious stones we bought from a local craft store, we started designing the most beautiful creations. Soon people were stopping us on the street wanting to buy the necklaces off of our necks. With perserverence and most of all passion we have turned it into a successful business. After my mom passed away, it was never a question as to whether or not I would continue our collaboration. She passed me the baton and I have been running with it.
We believe that one of the ways to achieve happiness is to “Do what you love, love what you do.” How does this philosophy apply to your life?
Aside from the happiness that my children and husband bring me there is no other place I would rather be than in my studio. I have beads and stones in every crevice of my space and when I walk in there magic starts to happen.
Our mission here at The Bright Side Project is to spread sunshine on a daily basis because we firmly that life is (still) beautiful. Where do you find beauty and inspiration?
I find beauty and inspiration everwhere I go. Silly and as unglamorous as it may sound the produce section at the grocery store always inspires me. Especially in the fall when the jeweld tone fruits (golden pears, purple blueberries and red and green grapes) are all sitting together. Those colors are so rich and inspiring to me. I am also a big people watcher and will often sit in the center of NYC and just make note of all of the different trends.
On a dreary day, what do you do to infuse your life with a little bit of sunshine?
I turn on some fabulous music and pour myself a nice big cup of coffee. Delicious!!!
What are you most grateful for?
I am most grateful for my mother who taught me to make good decisions in my life. Anytime I am in a situation where I feel stuck I hear her guiding me. Not in a morbid way but in the most loving and primal way. I am also so very grateful for my children and husband. My two little girls make me laugh like nobody else. They melt my heart.
