Hello, dear readers. Inherent in the mission statement of The Bright Side Project is the unspoken belief that to “Do What You Love, Love What You Do” is an absolutely essential component in creating a happy and healthy lifestyle. Every now and then, we will ask our contributors to answer a few short questions on the ideas of happiness, creativity and sunshine. We hope these rays of light help inspire you to find the sunshine in your day, today and everyday.
Today we are honored to introduce you to Jan from ReStyle.
Please introduce yourself to our readers and explain a little bit about your business.
My name is Jan Skácelík and Im a graphic designer living in Olomouc, small city located in Czech Republic. I”m a huge fan of Scandinavian design & mid century modern so after some years of collecting various items from that period I decided to do a line of prints inspired by them as it was original idea. It was quite a success, which started my business. As I”m also bit of nerd and geek for various pop cultural things, I also love to do artworks inspired by those.
We believe that one of the ways to achieve happiness is to “Do what you love, love what you do.” How does this philosophy apply to your life?
True, you can’t do anything well without loving what you do – at least partially. Without my love for vintage design, I would never start to create what I do now.
Our mission here at The Bright Side Project is to spread sunshine on a daily basis because we firmly that life is (still) beautiful. Where do you find beauty and inspiration?
Well, usually in things around me, as I said Im a huge admirer of vintage retro stuff which is very inspirational for me.
On a dreary day, what do you do to infuse your life with a little bit of sunshine?
Listen to some good music, make some delicious food, or work on some new ideas.
What are you most grateful for?
For the support by people who like what I do.
