Sunshine Post :: Son of a Sailor
Hello, dear readers. Inherent in the mission statement of The Bright Side Project is the unspoken belief that to “Do What You Love, Love What You Do” is an absolutely essential component in creating a happy and healthy lifestyle. Every now and then, we will ask our contributors to answer a few short questions on the ideas of happiness, creativity and sunshine. We hope these rays of light help inspire you to find the sunshine in your day, today and everyday.
Today we are honored to introduce you to William and Jessica from Son of a Sailor.
Please introduce yourself to our readers and explain a little bit about your business.
We’ve now been in business for just over a year, and are proud to have created a collection of jewelry, two editions of prints and cards, and a limited edition mini-collection of necklaces. We have a new full collection on the horizon, and endless ideas that we want to try to make happen somehow!
Our jewelry is crafted out of a true collaboration of both of our aesthetic ideas. We really have fun adding color and shape to raw materials, and hope that others have fun wearing the end result.
We believe that one of the ways to achieve happiness is to “Do what you love, love what you do.” How does this philosophy apply to your life?
Our mission here at The Bright Side Project is to spread sunshine on a daily basis because we firmly believe that life is (still) beautiful. Where do you find beauty and inspiration?
I am constantly finding inspiration and beauty in William. He is full of light, goodness and creativity, which inspires me daily. Finding the person that fills your soul with sunshine is one of the best things that can happen to you. I also really love color, and as I look around the world, both natural and man-made, I love to see the way colors play off of one another.
On a dreary day, what do you do to infuse your life with a little bit of sunshine?
Nerd alert: I rearrange and organize a room. I get a kick out of having a place for everything and everything in its place—it restores a sense of balance and harmony for me. Seriously, the Container Store is one of my all time favorite places.
At this very moment, what are you most grateful for?
Loved ones. My friends and family bolster me up and infuse so much happiness in my life every day. To me, that’s worth more than a whole lot of other things.
