Hello, dear readers. Inherent in the mission statement of The Bright Side Project is the unspoken belief that to “Do What You Love, Love What You Do” is an absolutely essential component in creating a happy and healthy lifestyle. Every now and then, we will ask our contributors to answer a few short questions on the ideas of happiness, creativity and sunshine. We hope these rays of light help inspire you to find the sunshine in your day, today and everyday.
Today we are honored to introduce you to Sara from Tiny Galaxies.
Please introduce yourself to our readers and explain a little bit about your business.
I’m Sara from Tiny Galaxies. I didn’t get into jewelry to start a business, rather to start something new to keep my hands busy. I quickly became completely swept up in it and after a few months of experimenting with resin, found my ‘style’. I hadn’t seen anything else like mine on the market before, and I thought I might take a stab at selling. At that point, I had invested so much money into my business that it simply HAD to succeed. Two years later, I’ve sold more than I ever hoped for and am very grateful for the success I’ve had.
We believe that one of the ways to achieve happiness is to “Do what you love, love what you do.” How does this philosophy apply to your life?
Quite literally. My job feels like a hobby most of the time. This is why I can spend many more hours a week than I would in a regular, full time job, and not be miserable. It’s very strange when I actually take a moment to think about how I earn money.
Our mission here at The Bright Side Project is to spread sunshine on a daily basis because we firmly that life is (still) beautiful. Where do you find beauty and inspiration?
In the sky! My business is named Tiny Galaxies, after all. I’ve always had a ‘thing’ for the sky and what lies beyond it. There are so many beautiful colors in sunsets and so many amazing images of galaxies. Part of the inspiration lies in my imagination since I can’t physically be there, but just thinking about it is inspiring enough.
Aside from that, I’m inspired by so many amazing artists on Etsy and amazing bloggers. Sometimes I can’t believe how many talented people are out there.
On a dreary day, what do you do to infuse your life with a little bit of sunshine?
Play with my cats. Their cute little faces and ridiculous stunts never fail me.
What are you most grateful for?
My family, my boyfriend, my little kitties, my friends and my customers! They are all sources of support in different ways.
