Today we are honored to introduce you to Stacy from Twine.
Please introduce yourself to our readers and explain a little bit about your business.
I’m Stacy Wong, owner & curator of Twine. We are an online boutique which features crafted curiosities and brings undiscovered handmade to you. We actively support emerging and established makers, artists and designers to bring an edited selection of handmade, artful objects.
We believe that one of the ways to achieve happiness is to “Do what you love, love what you do.” How does this philosophy apply to your life?
After a long and steady career in human resources, I decided to obtain more in life by pursuing my dream of entrepreneur and maker. I believe in second careers and I now utilize my artistic skills and talents to support a couple of creative businesses. I also feel it is important in life to take chances, stretch yourself, and you will be glad you did. In addition to Twine, I design and create “handmade wood goodness” with my own line of baby gifts, décor and keepsakes.
Our mission here at The Bright Side Project is to spread sunshine on a daily basis because we firmly believe that life is (still) beautiful. Where do you find beauty and inspiration?
From the following:
-In my personal collection of art, craft, and vintage findings
-My family – they are extremely supportive of my businesses and creative endeavors
-I do a lot of thinking and planning while exercising on the elliptical. The time goes by faster when I’m thinking creatively!
On a dreary day, what do you do to infuse your life with a little bit of sunshine?
I sit down and have a hot chocolate with my boys. This tradition started many years ago when I would tell them that “it’s hot chocolate weather” when would rain (infrequently as it does here in California).
What are you most grateful for?
For the last several years I have thought about what I really wanted to do and how to have a saner family/work life balance. I recently left my full time career in Human Resources to pursue my creative endeavor dreams and now am lucky to be able to work from home office and studio.
